AutoPPI®
Barcoded Wristbands for Positive Patient Identification

AutoPPI Benefits
The AutoPPI barcoded wristband reduces errors by:
  • Virtually eliminating the chance of patient mix-up
  • Ensures that patients are identified reliably and consistently
  • Provides linear and two-dimensional (2D) barcodes, enabling electronic identity checking
  • Provides a portable version of the information in your Patient Administration System (PAS)
AutoPPI is the Most Reliable Way to Identify Patients
The AutoPPI identification bracelet is made of a durable, waterproof material and is thermally printed for crisp, clear text. Information on the AutoPPI wristband is obtained directly from your existing Patient Administration System to avoid transcription errors. Wristbands can include one and two-dimensional barcodes for highly reliable electronic identification checking. With growing numbers of hazardous outcomes related to misidentification of patients, the AutoPPI technology is simply common sense.
The 2D Barcode - a Portable PAS/ADT on the Patient's Wristband
The 2D barcode used with AutoPPI contains all the patient demographics for the patient, as taken directly from your Patient Administration System (ADT). These barcodes can contain thousands of characters in a highly reliable code that includes automatic error correction. Even partially damaged codes can usually be read.

The 2D barcode can be read directly into handheld computers. Thus, positive patient ID may be carried through critical procedures such as transfusion (BloodTrack Tx), sample collection (PathCollect), milk administration (LacTrack SafeLx) and drug administration (DrugTrack SafeRx) - right at the patient's bedside
Flexible Wristband Format to Suit Your Needs
Any information from your PAS can be printed on the AutoPPI wristband using your choice of fonts, graphics and layout.
