Simpler Safer Health Care
BloodTrack® AutoFate
Record the Fate of Blood Units
BloodTrack AutoFate is a simple solution to the fate-of-unit problem. Using an
inexpensive barcode scanner at existing nursing station computers, caregivers can record
the arrival and fate of blood units with a few blood bag scans.
Record Arrival
The blood unit arrival function is used to record the time/date of when the blood unit
arrives at the nursing station.
- Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
- Scan the blood unit number and the product code barcodes
- The unit is recorded as arrived
Record End Transfusion
Instead of the blood bank presuming that the blood unit was transfused,
BloodTrack AutoFate can be used
to positively record the fate of the blood unit whether transfused, spiked, aborted,
returned etc. (feature also available with
BloodTrack Tx at the bedside).
- Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
- Select the final disposition of the blood unit from a configurable list
- Scan the blood unit number and the product code barcodes
- The fate-of-unit is recorded in BloodTrack and a message is sent to the blood bank system. If BloodTrack is not interfaced to the BECS/LIS then a barcoded list of transfused units can be printed and scanned into the BECS/LIS
