BloodTrack® Enquiry
Blood Status and Nursing Workflow Tool

BloodTrack Enquiry is the ultimate nursing tool for blood transfusion as it can be used in a number of different modes to query, record and display events related to blood movement and transfusion.
Blood Unit Availability
The caregiver can use BloodTrack Enquiry to check the status or location of a blood unit for a particular patient.

  1. Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
  2. Enter the patient's last name or hospital number
  3. The units available for the patient, the unit status (e.g. In, Returned to Stock, Arrived, etc), and even the unit's movement history can be viewed
Print a Pickup Slip
When ready to retrieve blood from the refrigerator, the nurse can easily print a pickup slip using BloodTrack Enquiry instead of writing on a request form. In addition, to the clear, electronically produced text, the pickup slip also includes a barcode containing the patient and blood request information to ensure the right blood is removed for the right patient when scanned into BloodTrack Courier

  1. Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
  2. Enter the patient's last name or hospital number
  3. Click on a valid blood unit and select to print a pickup slip
  4. The slip is printed at the nursing station and then brought to the refrigerator at access the blood
Record Arrival
The blood unit arrival function is used to time and date stamp when the blood unit arrived at the nursing station. This creates a valuable blood audit trail as well as allowing BloodTrack Tx to check that the transport time has not been exceeded prior to transfusion.

  1. Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
  2. Scan the blood unit number and the product code barcodes
  3. The unit is recorded as arrived
Transfusion Dashboard
BloodTrack Enquiry displays the status of all ongoing transfusions, even reminding nurses to - start a blood transfusion, record 15 vitals, and end the transfusion. By providing this information, nurses can manage their workflow more effectively.

Record End Transfusion
Instead of the blood bank presuming that the blood unit was transfused, BloodTrack Enquiry can be used to positively record the fate of the blood unit whether transfused, spiked, aborted, returned etc. (feature also available with BloodTrack Tx at the bedside).

  1. Scan a valid caregiver ID to access the application
  2. Select the final disposition of the blood unit from a configurable list
  3. Scan the blood unit number and the product code barcodes
  4. The fate-of-unit is recorded in BloodTrack and a message is sent to the blood bank system
