Simpler Safer Health Care
LacTrack® Courier
Mother's Milk Management Beyond the Blood Bank
LacTrack Courier Benefits
The Courier system provides control of milk movement and inventory beyond the milk bank:
- Tracks every barcoded milk/formula/additive/donor container when it moves in and out of every location
- Immediately warns if a milk unit is too long out of storage
- Immediately warns if a milk unit has expired
- Provides detailed reports, including milk histories, refrigerator inventories, and current locations of all milk containers
- Provides a powerful search tool to find any unit, at any time
- Increases user confidence knowing that that right milk has been delivered
LacTrack Courier is Flexible and Adaptable
You can customize LacTrack Courier to suit your needs. With LacTrack Courier,
you can set the transportation method for the containers, and the maximum amount of
time spent in transit for each of mode before the milk is considered unsafe. To further
ensure the right unit is taken for the right patient, you can add an extra step in
LacTrack Courier to enter or scan the patient information from the SafeLx Pickup Slip.
You can also customize all the text and audio messages used by LacTrack Courier.
LacTrack Courier is Easy to Use
The LacTrack Courier kiosk is equipped with touch-screens so you do not need a
mouse or keyboard. It's simple and easy-to-use and can be used
by anyone with minimal training. When errors are detected during movement of milk units
the Milk Bank is instantly alerted via both visual and audible means. This enables
Milk Bank staff to be proactive and intercede at the earliest opportunity in order to
minimize potential consequences. The system also maintains a detailed audit trail of the
Milk Bank staff member that viewed each error and the action that was taken to correct
the problem.
LacTrack Courier Ensures that the Patient Receives the Right Milk
LacTrack Courier matches patient information and milk unit number to ensure the right
milk is removed for the right patient.
LacTrack Courier Maintains a Complete Audit Trail
Each time that a milk product is handled, the system verifies the following:
- The person handling the milk is authorized
- The milk has not passed its expiry date
- The milk container is the oldest available for the specified patient
- The milk has not been outside of refrigeration longer than appropriate
- Type of event
- Location of the event
- Kiosk that was used
- Caregiver
- Milk unit number
- Date and time
- Any error generated by the event
