Simpler Safer Health Care

PathCollect®
Sample Collection and Phlebotomy Management

PathCollect Benefits
The PathCollect system improves patient safety and nursing efficiency at the bedside by:
  • Making phlebotomy more efficient
  • Reading patient identification directly from the AutoPPI wristband and prints sample labels on the spot - virtually eliminating any chance of sample mix-ups.
  • Using wireless communication to ensure that sample collection lists are up to date
  • Eliminating all bedside paper work and transcription errors as the handheld PDA collects all the necessary data
  • Establishing an complete electronic audit trail of all events
  • Leading the caregiver through the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the hospital
PathCollect Provides Positive Patient Identification
Using AutoPPI, each patient can be identified by the barcoded information printed on a wristband. This ensures positive identification of each and every patient before transfusion, thus eliminating near-misses and errors relating to patient identification.
PathCollect Ensures Correctly and Clearly Labeled Specimen Tubes
PathCollect captures patient information by scanning their wristbands. Both machine and human readable patient information are then printed on the sample labels. This saves time and eliminates transcription errors.
PathCollect is the Most Accurate and Reliable Way to Collect Samples
Sample labels are printed with patient information read directly from the patient's wristband. PathCollect automatically prints the correct number of sample labels and clearly shows which label belongs to which sample tube. All outstanding sample collection requests are retrieved when the patient identification is read.
PathCollect is Easy to Use
PathCollect runs on the familiar Palm PDA platform. Simple controls and step-by-step instructions make PathCollect easy and intuitive to use.
